Adult cells into stem cells

The research team managed to almost halve the time to convert adult cells into stem cells. In the second series of experiments, they artificially increased the expression of the gene p53 , which is sometimes associated with cancerous tumors.

The activation of these molecular pathways has increased the rate of division of immune cells, which in turn affected the rate of re-programming. Almost all the population formed the iPS-cell after 8 weeks. Later, it was estimated that the cells have undergone modifications by means of "cancer" and the normal gene, given the right breed for about the same number of cycles of division.

In the article , published in the journal Nature, suggest the authors of that during cell division specific chemical signals cause the DNA to change the expression of certain genes. Accordingly, if the cells begin to divide more rapidly then they too become pluripotent before.
